Evangel Athial

Evangel Athial is an author, educationalist and journalist who grew up in the South Indian state of Kerala, attending The MT Seminary High School, Kottayam, The Mar Thoma College, Tiruvalla and later on The Tribhuvan University, Kathmandu. For some time he worked as a visiting faculty of communication skills and columnist for The Times of India before settling down as a full time author. Distinctively, he is acclaimed for his fiction works for adults as well as educational books for college and school students.

His first published work, ‘Hitler and the Decline of Shah Dynasty with a Romantic Twist’ was hailed by readers, newspapers and critics as a touching and impressive debut. Since then he has penned down a few more books in the fiction genre. Despite the recognition as a popular writer, he believes he is still a Lilliputian in the world of Gullivers and continues to get scared, excited and disenchanted, recurrently pounding his hands on the corpse’s chest, yet possessing a primitive craving to leave a mark on the world.

Most of his writings in the fiction genre centers on how we can bounce back after life has knocked us down, about hope, love and how we hold onto life’s little joys, even in the midst of all its misfortunes.

Athial’s educational books sell strongly enough that within a short span of time more than 300 leading educational institutions have incorporated them in their syllabus. The books introduce new ideas to teachers and students and provide inspiration for teaching as well as learning.
